“In Custody” screened on 29th May, 2011

Jalandhar May 30, 2011 -‘In Custody’, the debut feature film of Ismail Merchant, was screened on last Sunday at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall by People’s Voice. The memorable proformances of  veterian actors Shashi Kapoor, Om Puri and Sabana Azami were the hallmark of the film. While introducing the film, Mr.Kulwinder gave a brief introduction of works of producer director Ismial Merchat. He addeded that the film is based on the booker prize nomination of famous novelist Anita Desai and this added many layers to the film. He said that taking into consideration of the fact of poetry of Faiz and music of Zakir Husain and Sultan Khan, special arrangements of sound qualty were made.

It is added that this was the second show in connection with birth century of revolutionary poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz. During the month of March, documentary film ‘Faiz –  A Poet of  Trubled Times’ was screened.
